Neil Gaiman is an internationally celebrated author known for his genre-defying works that blend fantasy, horror, mythology, and folklore. Born on November 10, 1960, in Portchester, England, Gaiman began his career as a journalist before transitioning to comics, where he made an indelible mark with his acclaimed The Sandman series. Since then, he has authored a wide range of novels, short stories, graphic novels, and children's books, including American Gods, Coraline, The Graveyard Book, Neverwhere, and Good Omens (co-written with Terry Pratchett). Gaiman’s storytelling is renowned for its lyrical prose, dark whimsy, and profound philosophical undertones. He has received numerous awards, including the Hugo, Nebula, Bram Stoker, and Newbery Medal, among others. His work has been adapted into major films, television series, and stage productions. Gaiman is also known for his advocacy of libraries, literacy, and free speech. He continues to write across genres and age groups from his home in Wisconsin, where he lives with musician and performance artist Amanda Palmer.
