Maggie Hoopis

Maggie Hoopis is an indie author blending Western settings with romantic fantasy and dragons in her debut novel Grace of Dragons (part of The Thunder of Cosimo series). Inspired by Rebecca Ross’s Writer’s Conservatory, Maggie uses a “quilting” writing method—working on different parts as inspiration strikes—and balances author life with motherhood in Illinois. She co-founded the Indie Romantasy Reads Book of the Month Club to support indie genre writers and readers. Known for strong heroines, dry humor, and magical worldbuilding, her stories reflect emotional growth, independence, and romantic tension in frontier landscapes. Maggie premiered her debut in March 2025 and is developing a second interconnected standalone, Best of Dragons, due fall 2025.
