Devin Elle Kurtz (b. November 12, 1996) is a California-born illustrator, visual development artist, and author celebrated for her lush, magical fantasy art. A self-taught digital painter, she began working professionally in animation, serving as the lead background artist on Netflix’s Disenchantment. Alongside her animation career, Kurtz has illustrated covers for major publishers—including HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, and Simon & Schuster—and released art books like Windows to Worlds. Her debut as author‑illustrator came with The Bakery Dragon, a charming picture book published by Random House Kids, which became an Indie bestseller. She also illustrated Mother of Sharks and continues to create vibrant imagery for picture books and commercial projects. Based in Pasadena with her dog and dozens of houseplants, Devin is known for bringing whimsy, warmth, and storytelling to both her visual and written work.
